A Few Quick Notes

1. Congratulations to the New Zealand Breakers for their championship win.  They absolutely deserve to be crowned champions and it will be very interesting to see them defend their back to back wins.

2.  Congratulations to the Perth Wildcats for pushing the Breakers to the limits.  This finals series was one for the ages as every game was a nail-biter as well as hard fought.  If this the way the NBL is headed count me in.

3.  Live NBL is back on the air!  Great work by the NBL to get one game live on One HD.  Having the game on Sunday afternoon is fantastic as well as most people stay home on Sundays which will increase viewership.  Also the game on Friday night at 9.30pm is a great addition as well.

4.  This quote - "Justin Milne said that a key component of the new agreement, which will still run the remainder of the original five-year term through until the end of the 2014/15 iiNet NBL Championship season, is the NBL reclaiming the rights to non-TEN produced games for subscription television, IPTV,  on-line and mobile."  Will iiNet actually use their internet services and give us the non-televised games online?  That would be amazing.

5.  It seems that there won't be an expansion of the league next year, with the team total staying at 9.  Fair enough, but if they are going to expand the season after that they need to announce that soon.  Do what the AFL did with the Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney and announce the team early so people can get behind them.  Don't wait until the season is nearly at hand to reveal the new (most likely Melbourne) team.  The new team needs all the publicity it can get and giving it a head start is the way to go.

Just a few news headlines going through my head at the moment, if you have any more you want discussed write something in the comments section.
